Echipa care conduce ancheta în cazul atacului armat de la universitatea din Rusia a declarat că suspectul și-a cumpărat în mod legal arma cu care a tras – o armă de vănătoare – în luna mai a acestui an.
Poliția l-a identificat pe suspect ca fiind Timur Bekmansurov, potrivit The Moscow Time, care citează surse media în limba rusă.
Site-ul local de știri 59.ru a publicat o postare de pe rețelele sociale care i-ar aparține atacatorului, în care acesta descrie în detaliu planurile lui și motivele pentru care a comite atacul. Nu există, însă, nicio confirmare cu privire la autenticitatea acestor date.

În mesaj, presupusul trăgător a mai spus că este „plin de ură”, că a planificat atacul și că a economisit din timp bani pentru a cumpăra arme de foc.
Timur Bekmansurov era student și avea 18 ani. Guvernatorul regiunii Perm, Dmitri Mahonin, a anunțat că a fost ucis în timpul atacului.
8 persoane au fost ucise și mai multe au fost rănite în acest atac, a anunțat procuratura, în cel mai nou bilanț oficial citat de agenția Tass.
Atacurile armate în școli sunt cazuri rare în Rusia, datorită măsurilor excepționale de securitate din aceste unități și pentru că este foarte dificil de procurat o armă în mod legal, cu toate că la armele de vânătoare accesul este mai simplu
Ultimul atac armat într-o unitate de învățământ a avut loc în mai 2021, când un tânăr de 19 ani a deschis focul în vechea lui școală din orașul Kazan și a ucis 9 persoane.
